CUPPING & GUA SHA

Cupping & Gua Sha:
Gua Sha Scraping Massage

Gua Sha scraping massage is a traditional Chinese technique based on the idea that energy blockages, tension, or heat in the body can be relieved by gently scraping the skin. The technique is performed using special Gua Sha scrapers made of jade. I use this massage to promote circulation, eliminate toxins and heat, and improve the flow of energy in the body.

During the treatment, I gently scrape the skin with light pressure, which can lead to redness known as „Sha.“ This effect indicates the release of heat, caused by toxins, for example, and is desirable. I frequently use Gua Sha on the back, shoulders, or neck. Additionally, I apply it on the face to improve skin texture and promote a healthy complexion. Furthermore, Gua Sha can aid in relieving muscle and joint pain and releasing tension in the body.

Cupping & Gua Sha:
Cupping

Cupping, also known as cupping massage, is a traditional Chinese therapy based on the principle of applying targeted suction to the skin. I use glass cups in cupping, which I place on the skin and create a vacuum either by burning or with the help of a vacuum pump. In static cupping, I use 8 to 12 cups that I place on your body. In sliding cupping, I use a glass cup that, after creating a vacuum, I glide over the areas to be treated, which feels like a massage and can be performed with varying intensities.

Cupping aims to promote circulation, stimulate lymph flow, and relieve tension. The suction effect can cause skin redness, known as “cupping marks” or “cupping bruises.” In my practice, I use this therapy to treat muscle tension, back pain, detoxify toxins, and other complaints.

Together with acupuncture, herbal therapy, and other procedures, Gua Sha and cupping provide optimal balance.
